Advice:First steps in starting a wiki
From Wikia Help

This article is a very brief guide to the very first few things to do on a new wiki!
[edit] The six steps
- Sort out a clean main page with links to various important pages and sections. This page may make or break your wiki.
- Write a short introduction on what the wiki is about for the Main Page.
- Make sure somewhere exists for prospective and current editors to chat about the wiki.
- Create the most important articles first and get them organised simply.
- Get a logo, even if it is a stop-gap design - it will help give your project an 'identity'.
- Tell people the wiki exists, and make sure they feel welcome when they come!
From this, your wiki should have a solid foundation for the near future!
