This is a new feature on Wikia!
This extension is enabled by default on Wikia.

The ProblemReports extension allows users to report problems with articles. All users can view reports (and can often help deal with the problem), while local administrators, Wikia Helpers and Wikia staff members can resolve them.

How it works

The link "Report a problem" is added to article footer on Monaco skin, and next to the watch tab on Monobook skin. Click it and dialog will pop-up (see image on right).

After filling all the fields and submitting the form, the report is added to Special:ProblemReports. The reporter is also given a link to page where he can observe how his problem is being fixed.

The special page Special:ProblemReports is the place where all users can view reports. Additionally, it allows admins to manage reports: filter them, change their type, close them, send emails to reporters. We encourage all admins to check this page every so often.

For Helpers and staff read more instructions for admins how to handle problem reports.

Adding templated responses

You can reply back to the reporter of the problem easily.

You can add templated problem report responses to your wiki by editing MediaWiki:ProblemReportsResponses. They will show up next to a problem report and clicking the name of a template adds it to the email. This is very handy if your wiki gets a lot of similar problem reports (e.g. if your wiki is about a game and gets frequent in-game bug reports, you might want to tell the reporters that the wiki cannot fix in-game bugs). Please do not overuse the templated responses, though — getting a "real" response instead of a templated one is always better!

The syntax for MediaWiki:ProblemReportsResponses is:

*Text you want to see on Special:ProblemReports

For example, if your wiki has two templates called "Fixed" and "Closed", you would put the following into MediaWiki:ProblemReportsResponses:

*Fixed
*Closed
