Usage of Protect Site
The Protect site is an extension that is a last resort method that allows Wikia staff, Helpers, or Local administrators to temporarily restrict certain actions such as creating accounts, new pages, editing, moving, or uploading in order to circumvent persistent spam or vandal attacks from a single individual or group of people coordinating an attack on a particular wiki.
This extension can be requested from staff via Special:Contact if you notice a wiki is the victim of targeted, focused, and/or persistent vandalism or spam.
Usage
Once enabled, it will be listed in the "Other special pages" section on Special:SpecialPages. It will only be visible to those users who have the correct permissions to use it.
When activated, it will show up in the protection logs as a protect of 'Special:AllPages'.
Please note: This is not meant for long term protection of a wiki, and can only be activated for small blocks of time. If the vandalism continues for an extended period of time, please contact Wikia Staff again to discuss other options.
