SVG images (Scalable Vector Graphics) in MediaWiki, and on Wikia, are rendered inline as PNG files (which are more universally browser-supported). This is an imperfect science, but should generally not be a problem.
Saving SVG's
If an computer does not have an image editor that supports SVG's, it will automatically render them as .png, thus making it lose it's SVG graphics.
To save an SVG, you have to download an image editor program that supports SVG's, for example, InkScape.
