Setting "My Preferences"
Navigating to the skin chooser
Click on your user name at the top of the screen, and select "My Preferences" from the dropdown menu.
Choosing a color theme for a skin
Click on the second tab titled Skin under Preferences, and this brings up the Skin Chooser.
There are two types of skins: Monaco and Wikipedia (Monobook). Click on a radio button to select a color theme for the skin you like.
See custom wikis
This checkbox is selected by default. Many wiki administrators spend a good amount of time creating a custom look for their wikis, so keep this box checked to see the wikis with custom looks. Uncheck it and you will only see your personal color theme for all wikis.
Below the See Custom Wikis checkbox, you will see which skin has been chosen by the admins for this wiki.
Setting the default theme, wiki-wide
If you are an admin for a wiki, you will see an additional option at the bottom of the skin chooser page. This option allows you to set the default color theme that visitors to the wiki will see.
Click on the down arrow and select which color theme you would like to apply wiki-wide. If you select Custom, you can do a more robust customization by editing the article MediaWiki:Monaco.css on your wiki (i.e., "xyz.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Monaco.css"). Please refer to the article Help:Customizing Monaco to learn more about complete customizations.
