Cannot use magic words or variables or template argumentsEdit

Imagemap is ok for static hyperlinks links but not for a link the needs to be constructed from, say the {PAGENAME} or {SITENAME} or {USERNAME}or any other parameter that uses double curly { } braces. najevi 08:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Same here! I'm making one rather important template, but it won't work unless I can put template arguments in it. If I didn't, the template would have about 8*(2³⁰⁰) lines of code - that's too much.

Image link syntax Edit

Someone should probably put a note on the page. One of the old abuses of the imagemap was to embed images with a link to another page, this is completely unnecessary now as MW supports |link= inside image syntax. ~ NOTASTAFF Dantman^{(Local Talk ⁝ Animanga Talk)}
