Who on Azeroth are you?

Hello, I'm Kirkburn, aka George, and I'm here to help you with your wiki!

As an Associate Product Manager, I work with Wikia to both help out existing communities and develop new products to make our wikis even more awesome. I am always taking suggestions for new projects! Please, let me know if you have any ideas.

In another life I admin WoWWiki, the leading wiki about the Warcraft universe, which joined Wikia in May 2007.

What's your class?

I am part of the Wikia Staff group. While I generally have the same powers as an admin, although I normally stay out of most wiki-specific issues - that's generally the job of the Community Team :)

What abilities do you have?

Normally I swoop in to help with one of several things:

• Announce new products and projects
• Clean up and organise wikis
• Help guide wikis to greatness
• Act as the diplomat in disputes
• Import and design new templates and pages

I am a resident Brit who, when not editing wikis, spends his time listening to ELO and batting people round the head as a scout. In Team Fortress 2.
I also created a popular addon for World of Warcraft called ClearFont.

Why "Kirkburn"?

No particular reason. I've used it since the mid-90s, since throwing two random words together to create a character name.
I have no connection to the English town of Kirkburn. They stole my sword though.

• The new WYSIWYG editor and CategorySelect.
• Help:Image placeholder, the Add Images tool, and the Video Embed Tool.
• Wikia Templates, a collection of templates from across Wikia.
• I worked on revamping Wikia Help, Wikia's general help wiki, to both make it more useful and get it ready for Shared Help.
• I helped redesign the starter wiki for new wikis - if you spot problems with it on new wikis, do let us know!
• At SXSW 2008, I took part in a discussion panel regarding game wikis - report on Massively.com.
• I pop up at various Blizzard conventions, such as WWI 2008 and BlizzCon 2009.
