Wikia Help:Maintenance

From Wikia Help

Contents

See Wikia Help:Development for wiki development, future plans and ideas.

This article concerns maintenance of the Wikia Help project. Note that only articles in the Help: namespace are candidates for transclusion.

[edit] Help articles

All general help articles come under Category:Help, and reside in the Help: namespace. Anything under this is a "live" page. Every help article should be categorised into Category:Help along with any subcategories.

See Wikia Help:Site Map for a full list of active pages.

[edit] Categories

Category:Help should be added to articles directly. Most subcategories must be added to categories manually.

[edit] Design guidelines

  • Colour neutral - should be readable on dark wikis.
  • No fancy formatting - should not look out of place.
  • Links should stay simple, on-wiki. Avoid interwiki.
  • Must look friendly and clean! Use lots of screencaps, headers, and whitespace. Keep to one screen. Reduce other visual clutter.
  • Ensure policies ("Why" and "Why not") are cleanly separated from instructions ("How"), but provide prominent links back and forth.

[edit] Project maintenance

All Wikia Help maintenance articles come under Category:Wikia Help maintenance, and reside in the Wikia Help: namespace. Help pages can also be developed in this namespace.
